What this site is

Latin Mix Tube is the written companion to the GowiththeFLOW channel on YouTube. The channel publishes long form Latin instrumental mixes and original tracks. This site exists so that the music has a home on the open web that does not depend on a recommendation algorithm, and so that there is somewhere to explain what is actually happening inside the arrangements.

Everything here is generated as static HTML before it is uploaded. There is no client side JavaScript on any page of this site, no player script, no tracking script and no analytics beacon of our own. Pages load, and that is all they do.

How the upload list works

The list of videos on this site is read at build time from the channel's public RSS feed. That feed carries the video identifier, the title exactly as published, the publication date, the description and the view count. Those are the numbers you see. We sort them ourselves by publication date, because the feed does not return them in date order and anything that trusts the document order will report the wrong newest upload.

View counts move. Treat the figure on a page as the reading taken when the page was last built, which is stated in the footer, and not as a permanent number.

Titles and language

Video titles appear exactly as the channel published them, including Spanish spelling and accents, and including any emoji. We do not translate, tidy or standardise them, because the title is part of the record. Editorial writing on this site is in British English.

What this site will not publish

• No invented musicians, ensembles or collaborators.
• No chart positions, sales figures or streaming totals. The only listening figures anywhere on this site are the view counts the channel's own feed reports.
• No release dates other than the publication dates in that feed.
• No quotations attributed to anyone.
• No claim that a specific recording sounds a particular way unless the page is about a video that is linked directly beneath the claim.

Where a genre guide describes history, technique or instrumentation, it describes the tradition. Historical figures named in those guides, such as Enrique Jorrin in connection with cha-cha-cha, are long documented public figures, and they are named without dates or details we cannot stand behind.

How this site is funded

It is not. There is no advertising on this site, no affiliate link, no sponsored placement and no paid directory. Nobody can buy a mention, because there is nothing to buy. The site exists to support a YouTube channel, and the channel is where any income associated with the music comes from.

The rebuild

An earlier version of this site existed at the same domain and was lost. The blog and playlist paths from that version have been rebuilt at their exact original URLs, so any link that pointed at them still works. The writing on those pages is new.
